GENERAL LABOURER – OCTOBER 2022

We are looking for a self-motivated laborer who has a dynamic attitude and is looking to work alongside a great team of employees.  We are a growing kitchen and bathroom manufacturing company located in the township of Minden.  If you enjoy working with wood and tools, can multitask and keep within timelines then we would love to hear from you.  We are a company who welcomes employees who have initiative and we encourage them to learn new skills.  Almost forgot, you must have a great sense of humor. 

If you enjoy working in a busy up-beat atmosphere, have good listening and communication skills and are handy with tools and are eager to learn new skills, then we are looking for you to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Keep manufacturing areas free of debris and dirt, and set out or put away tools.  Be able to follow instructions from more experienced employees to operate machines, hold or supply materials and tools, and load and unload items from machines and assembly lines.  Must listen attentively and be able to communicate clearly with other team members.   Be able to spot defective products or observe equipment malfunctions and report the problems to your supervisor immediately and if necessary, assist.  All the above but not limited to.

SKILLS

You need the manual dexterity to use tools and factory machinery, the physical strength to lift and move heavy materials and/or equipment, and the stamina to remain on their feet for most of their shift. Time management is helpful in organizing work load and finishing it on schedule.  Must be able to complete several tasks within a shift.

Hours:  Monday – Friday – There may be the odd weekend during a extreme period

Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinetry Installer – October 2022

We are a fast growing kitchen and bathroom manufacturing company located in the township of Minden. We design/build and specialize in high quality custom cabinetry and take pride in our workmanship and shop environment

We are seeking a self-motivated experienced cabinetry Installers; full-time/part-time/contract positions.  If you have a dynamic attitude, have good listening skills, able to problem solve and multitask, competent in communication with your coworkers and customers and are fully experienced in the tools of the trade, then we would love to hear from you.

THE APPROPRIATE APPLICANT MUST BE CAPABLE OF:

  • Read and interpret blueprints/drawings, cut lists and specifications of articles to be made, or prepare
  • Set up and operate saws and other woodworking machines to cut, shape and form parts and components, operate power tools; Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints; Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products; Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; sink/electrical outlet cutouts; laminate counter tops including scribing
  • Clean and Maintain Work Areas, Including Machinery and Tools
  • Apply trim such as baseboards, crown mouldings, etc, Installing hardware (slides, hinges, handles, etc)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
  • You must be able to work independently and efficiently with focus and time management
  • Effective, pleasant communication skills as you will have direct contact with our business clientele
  • You must have an experience in cabinetry installation
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving abstract)
  • 1 year experience is required

 

JUNIOR DESIGNER – OCTOBER 2022

JOB PURPOSE

Residential and Commercial designers must remain aware of the construction process and the feasibility of their designs as products.  To assist the Senior Designer/Owner with facilitating new jobs and preparing them to go into production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work/meet with clients, Senior Designer/Owner to assist with selections and design elements as required.
  • Site visit to client’s residence as required (km paid at a rate of .45 per km)
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails. Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries.
  • Provide preliminary measurements to generate draft designs and final designs to Senior Designer/Owner using computer-aided design (CAD), sketches or hard prototypes using software packages such as AutoCAD, Moziak and other related program, such as ‘SketchUp”.
  • Discuss designs with Senior Designer/Owner for custom ordering or with manufacturers as required.
  • Evaluating issues such as pricing and fixing costs, purchasing, safety, materials and manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Work with clients to select suitable materials, which might include wood, metal, plastic and textiles to assist with designing cabinetry packages to be offered.
  • Remain aware of the construction and manufacturing process and the feasibility to improve items already manufactured.
  • Liaising with craftsmen or production department staff – such as Production Managers, Marketing staff and Design Engineers – about the process of construction or manufacture.
  • Identify and gather new market and consumer information and business opportunities and provide feedback on buying trends.
  • Represent your organization while attending workshops, seminars, and training on various types of manufacturing and furniture/cabinet design. Keeping informed about design trends and developments.
  • Maintain a clean/safe and working environment area.

SKILLS

Creative and practical ability; drawing skills and strong visual awareness.  Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.  An understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) and other technological advances. Knowledge of industrial processes and techniques, safety issues and specialist fields or materials.  Communication skills and commercial focus.  Self-motivation, self-discipline and persistence, flexibility and adaptability.  The ability to work to deadlines. A desire to keep up to date with market trends and new ideas.  Business and marketing skills. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Recent graduate of a kitchen design. Courses with a mix of practical skills and creative design.  We are willing to train the right candidate.

SALARY – Specifically for potential candidate

There is a minimum training of 3 months due to the many required elements that our company provides to our customers as a manufacturer of custom cabinetry work, supply and installations.

  • Begin working full-time, 5 days a week (approx. 40 hrs a week) hourly
  • At the end of the 3-month training period, the candidate will well be versed in design and able to provide final drawings, for the Engineering department to program for Production.
  • Renumeration will be discussed at the end of the 3-month probation/training period regarding salary based on performance.

 

 

 

JR. CAD/Engineering

 This position requires close interaction with Intermediate to Senior CAD Technician, Field services, and design team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of project cycles.

  • AutoCAD: 1 year (Required)
  • Manufacturing: 1 year (Required)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the direction of a Senior CAD Tech, prepare drawings and related materials using AutoCAD/kitchen design software to submit for production.
  • Projects may include kitchen, bath, utility, misc cabinetry for installation or supply only
  • Track and Monitor assigned project milestones to complete projects in a timely manor to operate within budget
  • Follow provided guidelines and procedures to ensure client design and construction standards are maintained to ensure accuracy in products manufactured.
  • Update circulation conflicts and provide prompt resolutions for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Field Survey, designers, engineers, and client to establish workable solutions.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by your department leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Architectural, Mechanical Technology or related experience is preferred.
  • Advanced user of AutoCAD 2D, efficient use of Paper Space / Model Space.
  • Experience working with builder plans.
  • Strong, communication, interpersonal, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Capable of grasping new concepts easily.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to respond to changing priorities and handling multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Fluent in the English language, both written and oral

WORK ENVIRONMENT
